Why a cricket blog?

So of all the things in the world, why did I choose to blog about cricket? So in classic Dave Letterman style, here are my top 10 reasons (drums rolling…)

10. My old blog about a brief period in my life was only read by my friends and they didn’t even comment on it.

9. Where I live, cricket is a thing that lives in trees and dark corners and makes annoying noises. So nobody likes talking about it.

8. I really don’t have an opinion on anything else in life.

7. I sometimes read articles on Indiatimes.com and wince at their “expert analysis”.

6. I can’t bat, bowl or field to save my life. So why not bitch about people who actually can?

5. I needed Google Adsense and Amazon Associates to supplement my income.

4. There is no “This is the stupidest survey ever” option for surveys that ask inane questions like “Should Tendulkar retire?”, “Is Irfan Pathan affected by all the hype?”, “Is Zaheer Khan jealous of Pathan and Balaji?”.

3. There is a serious dearth of good cricket blogs on the net.

2. I hope someone from Cricinfo reads my blog and offers me the job of a cricket correspondent…my life-long dream.

And the number one reason (more drums rolling...)

1. Hey! It’s the greatest game in the world for me. Why shouldn’t I write about it? :-)

Like it or hate it, I'd love to hear your comments.
